A reunion of the Bathurst High class of 1968 will be held in early November and one of the organisers, Sue Hope, wants to see plenty of familiar faces to mark the 50-year milestone.
“A few of us have got together the first weekend in November for lunch in Sydney, but we thought, because it’s a significant one, we would bring it to Bathurst this year,” she said.
“And possibly our Sydney get-together will grow from this.”

Ms Hope, who was school captain in her final year, remembers the interest in the Astley Cup competition – which is contested by Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo – when she was at Bathurst High.
She lives in Orange now and admits that she was uncertain about where her Astley Cup loyalties lay until her children helped her decide.
“I had mixed feelings until my children started to represent Orange High.
“I always keep an eye on that event.”
The reunion will feature a tour of Bathurst High on Friday, November 2 at 4pm and a dinner that night.
There will be a bus trip to a winery on Saturday, November 3, barefoot bowls that afternoon and a dinner that night.
“We felt it was pretty significant - 50 years,” Ms Hope said of the decision to hold the reunion.
“It’s nice to catch up and to see where people are at in their lives.”
