Tilley clinched the honours in the Touring Car Masters’ Trophy Race – a short four-lap battle to start day three of the series’ Bathurst round.
The race featured a mixed grid, but Tilley had pole in his distinctive green Ford Falcon XY GTHO.
He got a good jump in the rolling start to be the first up Mountain Straight and from there went on with the job.
“Everything went alright then, I got a good start, straight to the front and I just had to maintain it from there,” he said.
“I think some tracks it causes a few dramas, people can get tangled up with each other. But here because of the wide, open spaces it sort of frees it up a bit more for everybody.
“I love it here … you can never get enough of this track.”
