The Orchard is located along College Road, next to the Chase campground, and this is the first year it has been opened up to Race Week fans.
This new campground has offers up 600 sites and adds to the existing 6500 camping spaces located around the iconic circuit.
More than 33,000 race fans, across 18 separate campgrounds, will be calling Mount Panorama home for the week.
Victorian men Scott Greenwood, his son Nicholas and their friend Scott Wallis are among the campers at The Orchard.
Mr Greenwood owns Pro-core Concrete Cutting and offered up his two workers a free week away at the Bathurst 1000 as a treat..
“I watched the Sandown 500 a few weeks ago so I thought I’d take them away,” he said.
Mr Wallis is already a motorcycle racing fan and he said he was keen to experience the Bathurst 1000.
“We got here on Thursday night and we haven’t been to the track yet, but we’re going today [Saturday],” he said.
For Nicholas, this was his first time at a Supercars event.
“It’s been good, I’ve enjoyed it, the atmosphere, talking to everyone, the whole thing,” he said.
