While everything from roses to diamonds was put forward, the friend settled for a romantic dinner for two and some bath products, which happen to be a favourite of his girlfriend’s.
While talking about the bath products, another colleague mentioned another supplier who makes similar items, but with jewellery and rings inside the bath bombs.
The mention of a ring was all it took for the friend to take a step back, thank everyone for their ideas, and promptly tell everyone in the office he’d be sticking with the plainer version bath bombs ... at least for the time being.
It might be a case of watch this space ... Parade will keep you updated of any developments.
Loving daylight saving’s benefits
IT might take us a couple of mornings to adjust, but a friend of Parade is really loving daylight saving. She was waking up at 5am anyway, so the idea of getting home when there is still plenty of sunlight is one that’s very appealing to her.
While she is enjoying it, the friend is secretly glad the transition has come in the school holidays, which means it will give her kids a chance to adjust to getting up an hour earlier before they actually have to get up to make it on time for the morning school deadline.
That’s food for thought at pond
A friend of Parade was in Orange recently and went to Cook Park with her kids to feed the ducks.
Armed with a couple of days of old bread, they ventured in, but found bread is no longer the food of choice for the ducks.
Apparently the bread is making the ducks sick, and also killing off the goldfish in the pond, which is not good news.
The advice is lettuce is a far better option for the ducks, and the health of the pond in general, so if you’re going for a visit, grab lettuce instead. Parade is sure the ducks, and the goldfish, will appreciate it.
