We do, however, need a heavy fall to fill a few dams for summer.
While the surrounding hills look pretty with a green tinge (bushies call it a green drought), this limited pasture growth will burn off quickly if we get a few hot days as we usually get in November.
So primary producers are a long way off a good season - in fact, the oncoming summer is not shaping up very well at all.

THINGS must be a bit quiet on the local government front - hence the foray by Cr Alex Christian into the federal immigration debate.
Regardless of the merits of Cr Christian's argument, may I respectfully suggest (as I have done numerous times to Cr Jess Jennings) that his attention should be kept "local", because that’s why he was elected.
A good place to start is roads starting from the corner of William and Howick outwards in a circle to the council boundary.
Luckily, not too many visitors ventured into the CBD last week to find our crumbling road surfaces - not a good advertisement, I'd suggest.

I HAVE received plenty of comment about the wider economic benefit of the Bathurst 1000 to our region.
Only two local sporting clubs remain on the Mount providing food services, but I hear that where they purchase goods is restricted as well.
