Tyrone Cocorelis, 19, of College Road, Bathurst, appeared before Magistrate Follent in Bathurst Local Court.
Police facts tendered to the court told how the victim was parked out the front of a Kelso address on August 18 when the incident occurred.
He was in his vehicle and called a friend on his phone to come out and say hello, according to the police facts. While the victim was waiting for the friend, another female came and sat in the front seat of the car.
Minutes later, Cocorelis arrived with two other people.
Cocorelis made his way to the front door of the property before walking back to the victim’s car, opening the rear passenger door and getting in the car.
The victim tried to stop him getting in the car, throwing his arms towards the accused. According to the police facts, Cocorelis headbutted the victim a number of times and punched the victim a number of times in the back of the head.
He grabbed the victim in a rear choke and attempted to choke him.
One of the men who arrived with the accused physically restrained him, removing him from the car and walking Cocorelis away from the victim.
According to the police facts, as he was walking away, Cocorelis said to the victim: “I know where you live. I will get a gun and shoot you.”
The victim claimed it was an unprovoked attack.
The accused was arrested by police and made admissions to headbutting and punching the victim, but did state that he was hit first by the victim.
