Sarah Boorer from Radio 2BS was named the top talk presenter in the country category of the awards, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in front of more than 1000 members of the nation’s radio industry.
Ms Boorer hosts the Talk of the Town program on 2BS and also fills in on other shifts at the station.
Perthville’s Grant Denyer, a member of the 2DayFM Breakfast with Grant and Ed show (Southern Cross Austereo), celebrated a successful transition from television to radio by taking out the Best Newcomer On Air award.
Denyer debuted on Sydney radio this year.
The night also honoured Bathurst Broadcasters owner Ron Camplin, who was presented with a special framed certificate recognising his 70 years in the radio business.
Mr Camplin had previously been inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.
