The work also includes upgrades to the limited lighting for the car park.

Hynash was awarded the $882,000 tender by Bathurst Regional Council to reseal the car park last month.

And the resealing of the car park isn’t the only work that will take place at Proctor Park, with work to commence on a new amenities block on October 29.

Council accepted a $687,000 tender for Tablelands Builders to build the new block.  

“The new facility is to include spectator and player toilets, player and referee change rooms and storage pace,” Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger said.

“It’s [council’s] intention to have all works completed by the commencement of the 2019 football season, subject to weather constraints.” 

These new works follow on from the recent redevelopment of the football complex’s three main fields, with the fields re-turfed and adequate drainage installed under the surface.

Other works carried out at the precinct in 2017-18 included the installing of retaining walls and concrete paths, along with fencing of the three main fields. 

Turf was laid at Proctor Park in March before the first matches were played on them in mid-June, but they were closed again just three weeks later due to damage to the surface occurred from the opening night.

Players returned to the fields in August and the local competition’s junior and senior grand finals were played on the new fields in September.
