Held on the school’s campus, as well as at neighbouring St Stanislaus’ College, it’s the second consecutive year the school has held the event.
It acts as a fundraisers for the school’s Parents and Citizens group, with last year’s event raising $2500.
This year the P and C, headed by president Bianca Young, is hoping to raise enough money to build a covered play area on the top oval.
She said the event is open to not just the school’s students but everyone in the Bathurst community.
“We had between 150 to 200 people last year, but we’re hoping for even more this year,” she said.
Participants will be able to run, or walk, as much as they want, as they are plastered with Holi powder.
Holi powder is a fine powder that can easily be removed from clothes.
Registrations for the event start at 10.30am, for an 11pm start.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Afterwards, there will be a sausage sizzle.
Ms Young recommends participants to bring cheap clothing and to bring a spare pair of clothes.
The Assumption School’s Colour Fun Run:
Bathurst South is not the only school in the city to host a colour run event, with The Assumption School set to host a similar event on Friday, October 26, called Colour Fun Run.
This is a major fundraiser for the school, with families invited to support the initiative.
Student sponsorship cards were distributed last term to allow plenty of time for students to seek fundraising support.
Proceeds from this event will support the installation of the shade sails currently being installed over the school’s climbing equipment.

- 12.15pm to 1pm – Year 3 and 4
- 1pm – 1.40pm – Picnic lunch
