That’s what original Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones has said about Hammer of the Gods –the tribute act which was credited, in a commemorative edition of Rolling Stone magazine in 2012, with keeping the Zeppelin spirit alive.
The American quartet, hailing from Seattle in the Pacific Northwest, strive to serve up the most authentic Zeppelin experience - bettered only, of course, by seeing the real thing.
Hammer of the Gods is on the road in NSW and Victoria from this Friday on a tour that will include a show at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre early next month.

The band, formerly known as No Quarter, have been wowing audiences all over the world for more than 15 years, sharing the stage with the likes of Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Steppenwolf, Loverboy, Jefferson Starship and others.
Band members take on the characters of John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and aim to bring each of them to the stage in nothing less than their absolute prime.
Hammer of the Gods has been described as far more than a tribute act as the performers capture all the subtle nuances and mannerisms of the band members, just like actors in a film.
The tour features Michael Anderson channelling Robert Plant on vocals, Nathan Carroll as drummer John Bonham, Chad McMurray as bassist/multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones and the fleet-fingered Bryan Christianson as Jimmy Page.
John Tuckness of Chicago’s Daily Herald was certainly impressed.
"If in fact you have never seen the real Led Zeppelin in concert, seeing these guys live is as close as you can get,” he said.
“They have all the moves, they know every note of every song ... it is just amazing how well they impersonate the real thing.”
Hammer of the Gods will play at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment on Thursday, November 8 from 8pm.
Tickets are $54 for an adult, $49 for concession, $49 for a BMEC Friend adult and $44 for a BMEC Friend concession.
