Atreyu Davis, aged 13, was last seen by his family at a home in Katoomba on Monday.
Officers from the Blue Mountains Police District have been searching from Atreyu and have serious concerns for his welfare.
Police believed he may have been travelling and busking with his 15-year-old friend; however, that boy has been located safe and well.
Atreyu is known to frequent the Sydney central business disctrict, along with the inner-western suburbs of Newtown, Dulwich Hill and Summer Hill.
Atreyu is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 168 centimetres tall, with a slim build, fair complexion, and short dark brown hair.
He was last seen wearing baggy blue or black jeans, a maroon hoodie with ‘Hard Rock Cafe’ on the front, and black and white ‘VANs’ sneakers.
