Built sometime in the early 1900s, this South Bathurst property has been meticulously renovated in recent years to make it a wonderful three-bedroom home.
Opening up the bright yellow door, you step onto a timber hallway that leads to the formal living room.
RECENT PROPERTY FEATURES:
This space features the original timber floors, which have been brought back to life, as well as a fireplace and unique modern lighting.
Taking a step down, you find yourself in the eat-in kitchen, the area in the home that has undergone one of the biggest transformations.
White Caesarstone benches are complimented by classic white cabinetry, while the modern stainless steel appliances and exposed brick add to the space.
The kitchen also offers a breakfast bar, a good amount of storage, twin full size sinks and a dishwasher.
Coming off the kitchen is a brand new laundry, which Bathurst Real Estate agent Sandy Fairbrother said is an element that sets this home apart from others of a similar age.
“In a lot of older homes you don’t get a laundry or it is outside, so here you get a good size laundry with linen storage, which is also rare,” he said.
The bathroom has also been transformed in the renovation.
It now features a sleek design with a monochrome colour scheme, offering a deep bathtub, raised vanity, toilet and large shower area.
When it comes to the bedrooms, each one is of a similar size and there is no dedicated master bedroom.
All of them offer the original timber floors, fireplaces and have been updated to include built-in storage that fit the space seamlessly.
“It’s quite an unusual feature in an older house,” Mr Fairbrother said of the storage.
As part of the renovation, the owners have put in new wiring, new plumbing and added ducted gas heating with ornate floor vents.
More interesting features of this property can be found outdoors.
For one, there is a low maintenance yard for people looking for a green space that requires very little work.
A timber deck lines the back of the home and is accessible from both the kitchen and the laundry.
One part of the deck is exposed, while a smaller area is covered and partially enclosed, complete with a built-in eating area.
In addition to all of these features, 20 Torch Street offers side access to the rear yard, a cellar beneath the house and the original outhouse which has been updated inside.
Mr Fairbrother said this property would suit professional couples or people after a renovated home close to the central business district.
“[It’s ideal for] someone with an eye for attention to detail, maybe an executive professional couple or someone who wants to be close to town but still have a yard,” he said.
The property will be open for inspection on Saturday between 11.30am and 12pm.
