Glenray’s fortunes are starting to change following a devastating fire earlier this year that destroyed their laundry and head office, with the not for profit organisation winning two awards at this years Peak Connect Carillon Business Awards. Glenray won both the Excellence in Not For Profit and Employer of Choice categories with Manager of People and Culture Craig Shiel, saying that it was a great acknowledgement for the business.

“We strive to make our workplace a positive and rewarding environment for our staff and supported employees,” he said. “The Employer of Choice award recognises the fact that we are getting this right, that we are attracting good quality applicants to our business and I guess our reputation in the local community is adding to this”.

Having been in operation for over 60 years, Craig said that the Excellence in Not For Profit award helped shine a light on the great work the Glenray does within the community. “We are constantly seeking to improve and offer the best possible environment for participants who need caring for in a range of situations. Winning this award is a vote of confidence for anyone considering undertaking one or several of the services we offer,” he said.
With 248 staff, Craig said that Glenray wanted to thank each and every one of them for their efforts. “They do an amazing job on a daily basis. We also want to thank everyone in the local community for their wonderful support and assistance”.
