Bathurst thumped the very young Orange outfit 13-0, with the visitors playing in division three following their entry into the competition for the first time in 2018.
Despite some cracking passing early, Orange weren’t able to get the ball deep enough forward, with the Bathurst cutting them off before their forwards could get into scoring range and hurting the hosts on the rebound.
Macey Fulton scored four goals while Lily Kable scored a hat-trick and Mia Culnane a brace, with Elyce Bestwick, Charlize Fitzpatrick, Oliva Howard and Giaan Willott scoring one goal each in the huge win.
Bathurst’s defence was too good for Orange to break through, and despite cracking games from Jordan Davis and goalkeeper Jess Zweirs, the weight of numbers from Bathurst’s rebounding proved too much as Orange were down 8-0 at half time.
They regrouped after the break to help staunch the flow of goals, but Bathurst still added another four in the second half.
Games run until Monday.
