In Bathurst, residents always gather beneath the War Memorial Carillon in Kings Parade to commemorate Remembrance Day and continue to honour their service.
This year will mark the 100th anniversary since the armistice was signed to end the First World War, making Remembrance Day even more significant this year.
Ahead of the 2018 service, the Western Advocate has gone through its archives to find photos from Remembrance Day for each year of the last decade.
From laying wreaths to addresses from school students, these photos showcase the moments where Bathurst has reflected on the greatest sacrifice of all.
Lest we forget.
