But this team will not require the talented seamer to bowl, nor will he have to pad up – it is the 7 Cricket commentary team.
Copeland is no stranger to commentating, having called Women’s Big Bash last summer and called Test cricket action for ABC Grandstand. He has also appeared on Fox Sports panels.
“I am so stoked to be joining the 7 Cricket commentary team this summer, I can’t wait for it to get started,” Copeland said.
“The team have been discussing whether batters or bowlers make better commentators. It’s pretty obvious which side I’m on – bowlers all the way.”
Copeland joins the likes of former Australian skippers Ricky Ponting and Lisa Sthalekar, bowling great Glenn McGrath on the commentary team.
