The event, which includes the popular Blayney to Bathurst, is expected to draw plenty of numbers since it will again be a qualifier for the UCI Gran Fondo World Series.
Bathurst Cycling Club president Mark Simons said it’s never too early to book a place in one of the region’s biggest sporting events.
“It’s great to have that UCI level of participation here in town. It lifts the whole event, and people love coming out to Bathurst to ride on our country roads,” he said.
“Council and Cycling NSW deserve a pat on the back for keeping this event rolling and maintaining that UCI accreditation.
“People can come from all across the country to try and qualify for to race in Europe at the World Championships.
“We have quite a few of our club members qualify for worlds last year and some of them took the opportunity to ride overseas.”
The feature 70km and 110km Blayney 2 Bathurst races will draw the most attention at the event but there’s plenty more racing over the weekend.

Saturday’s racing will again feature the hill climb and criterium events held at Mount Panorama and Kings Parade respectively.
“One of the really exciting events for us is the criterium in the CBD. Having access to that venue is amazing. It’s a win for the riders, because the course is great, and good for spectators,” Simons said.
“The hill climb sometimes gets forgotten about and it’s also a qualifying event for UCI. It’s another great chance to qualify for the chance to ride overseas.
“It’s an iconic finish at the top of Mount Panorama – another great part of an amazing weekend.”
