The Bureau of Meteorology’s forecast has predicted up to 40 millimetres of rain to fall across the city.
Rain is most likely to occur in the morning and afternoon, with a thunderstorm also on the cards for the same time.
Although the forecast is good news given the NSW drought, rain for Bathurst appears to be isolated to Wednesday, with the chance of rain extremely low until early next week.
As of Tuesday morning, Bathurst had received a total of 17mm of rain since the beginning of November, based on recordings from the agricultural research station.
The long-term average for the month is 61.2mm, meaning significant rainfall on Wednesday could see the city nearly hit that figure.
