ONE person has been taken to Bathurst Base Hospital for treatment after they were hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing in the city’s central business district on Wednesday morning. A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said that five crews were called to the intersection of George and Howick Street at 10.42am following reports that a mother and child had been hit by a car while crossing the road. The spokesperson couldn’t confirm which person had been transported to hospital for treatment, but said the mother, 25, had been struck on her left side by the vehicle. She was reporting pain to her leg as a result, but didn’t appear to have any further injuries. A single crew was able to treat both patients. More information to come.
