Since forming Momentum in 2016, members Lauren Hagney and Dave Webb have taken gigantic leaps with their music, and are among the region’s most celebrated music acts.
Their debut release, Subtitles, reflects the pair’s penchant for tight vocal harmonies and clever use of looping.
“We met during the Carillon Theatrical Society’s performance of Rock of Ages, and both of us shared an interest in writing and creating music,” Ms Hagney said.
“We literally started from scratch and went from there,” Mr Webb added.

Momentum has built a firm reputation performing regular gigs throughout the Central West and Sydney, and even took their talents across to New Zealand for a series of gigs in August.
Ms Hagney hails from Bathurst, while Mr Webb calls Lithgow home.
The duo’s diverse sound owes to their expansive range of influences, including The Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Queen and Metallica.
“We’ve been influenced by so many different bits and pieces; just stuff we like,” Ms Hagney said.
“Someone described us as ‘acoustic indie rock pop,’ but it’s a little bit less acoustic these days,” Mr Webb added.
Although the charismatic duo are known for their regular appearances on the pubs and events scene, their creative originals evoke a confident and accomplished sound, and is a testament to the pair’s electric musical chemistry.
Momentum’s lineup will be expanded at the launch with the additions of Lithgow musicians Todd Brownlow and Aaron Staines, and local talent Matt Boylan-Smith has been named as the support act.
“We’d just like everyone to have a good time and get into our new music,” Ms Hagney said.
“I’m looking forward to getting other people’s perspective of the music, and hopefully they’ll enjoy it,” Mr Webb added.
The album launch will commence next Thursday at Two Heads from 7pm and tickets are available from the event page.
