The reunion was held at the Oxford Hotel, as former students reminisced on school memories and discussed their lives in the past 50 years.
One of the event’s organisers and former school captain, Sue Hope, remembers the interest in the Astley Cup competition – which is contested by Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo – when she was at Bathurst High.
She lives in Orange now and admits that she was uncertain about where her Astley Cup loyalties lay until her children helped her decide.
“I had mixed feelings until my children started to represent Orange High.
“I always keep an eye on that event.”
