A MAN caught with marijuana in his pocket has been convicted and placed on a community release order for six months.

Robert James Barker, 43, of Rocket Street, Bathurst appeared before magistrate Cate Follent on a charge of possessing a prohibited drug.
Police facts tendered to the court told how at about 6pm on October 15 police responded to a report of a man laying down in the front yard of a Rocket Street property.
Police attended and found the accused laying down on the on the grass. They noted the residence did not have a fence or boundary.

Police approached and saw the man had a closed fit pack laying next to him on the ground. The accused was slurring his words and tensing his body while talking with police.
Police asked what he was doing in the front yard and he told them he was “waiting for a friend”, but was unable to tell police the friend’s name.
Police then informed the accused he would be searched.
They located a small wallet in the right hand pocket of the accused's pants and within the wallet there were two small pieces of foil with green vegetable matter inside.
