Audiences are set to find out in the play that Denison College Kelso High School campus will be performing next week, named The butler did it, singing.
Drama teacher Amanda Wilde said the play is a musical based on the story of a similar name that was written by Tim Kelly.
“It’s a comedy murder mystery and the question is basically ‘Did the butler do it?’,” she said.
“It is set in Miss Maple’s mansion on Turkey Island and there’s a real sense of foul play in the air.
“She’s invited a whole lot of murder mystery writers who are vying for her financial pleasure, but alas a murder happens in real life.
“The race is on to work out who has done it.”
Students have been working on the play for more than a term to get it ready in time.
The production will not only feature student actors, but will be supported by a student technical crew and hospitality students.
“It’s a dinner theatre night, so it is a dinner and a show, and the dinner is being put on by our hospitality senior students,” Ms Wilde said.
“They’re testing out their food service and customer service skills on the night.”
Members of the public can attend performances of The butler did it, singing on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
It will be held in the Kelso High gym, opposite reception, with guests asked to arrive at 6.30pm.
People are asked to purchase their tickets by Friday for catering purposes.

Ms Wilde said students were looking forward to performing to the public, as well as school students.
“We’re doing a matinee performance for the local public schools; so far we have 150 students coming,” she said. “As soon as I told them it was 150 people coming, they were like ‘Oh my God’, so I think it’s an incentive to perfect things and work a bit harder.”
