Apprenticeship Careers Australia will host the Meet ‘n’ Eat event at Venue Café on Tuesday, November 13.
The pop-up event will be run in partnership with Skillsroad, an Australian firm providing entry level jobs and careers advice.
ACA general manager Luke Radford said the Meet ‘n’ Eats were designed to engage young jobseekers on the spot, and directly connect them with real opportunities in a “unique and hassle-free environment”.
“These events are about reimagining recruitment techniques for young jobseekers and engaging them in places that they know and like – places they’d go to anyway,” Mr Radford said.
“Our on-the-spot interviews allow them to apply for an exciting apprenticeship or traineeship in a more comfortable and accessible context that takes away the pressure and nerves that can sometimes come with the traditional interview process.”
ACA will be interviewing for dozens of positions across a diverse range of apprenticeships and traineeships in NSW for both late-2018 and 2019 intakes, so young people can start working right away or set themselves up for a role when they return from schoolies.
Bathurst’s youth unemployment rate sits at 7.3 percent and Mr Radford said local employers were suffering under a skills shortage, finding it harder to find and retain the right staff.
ACA and Skillsroad are responding by bringing their innovative recruitment techniques to the area to help kick start young jobseekers’ entry into the workforce.
“I strongly encourage all young people in the area to grab their resume, come down to these pop-up events and have a chat with our team,” Mr Radford said.
“Our ACA Street Crew will also be there handing out free food and drinks and putting young people in the draw to win some awesome prizes at each event.”
The Meet ‘n’ Eat event runs from 3pm-5pm.
