Drama officially concluded at 2pm, marking the end of the 2018 HSC exams.
During the exam, students required to complete to two exams, adding to their practical exams that were performed back in September.
The Scots School had two students sitting their Drama exams – Holly Proctor and Josh Morris – who were both relieved their exams were finally over on Friday.
“They’ve gone on for too long,” Holly Proctor said.
“It was a bit hard to stay motivated, but I’m relieved they’re all over.”
Fellow Scots student Josh Morris agreed that the exam period was lengthy.
“It was a bit annoying that it was the last exam,” he said.
“Everyone had been celebrating. Now life can start now that the exams are over.”
For the Drama practical exam, students had to perform a compulsory group performance and an individual project, drawn from one of either critical analysis, design, performance, script writing or video drama.
Drama teacher Charmeon Jooste explained that Ms Proctor prepared her own individual project, while Mr Morris based his project off The Importance of Being Earnest, a play by Oscar Wilde.
“These exams were a culmination of nine months of intense work,” Ms Jooste said.
“For Holly’s individual project, she wrote her own and she’s been working on it since February. There was a lot of research and she had to go away and work hard on it.
“Josh performance in The Important of Being Earnest looked at the contemporary values of marriage in society, with him playing two characters.”
Now the students face the long wait of receiving their HSC marks.
HSC results are expected to be released on December 13.
Australian Tertiary Admission Ranks (ATAR), a primary criteria for entry into most undergraduate-entry university courses, are expected to be released on the following day on December 14.
ATAR results are released online at www.uac.edu.au, with results mailed out in the following days.
