Broes has linked up with Western Suburbs for the season and in his opening game for the club scored an unbeaten 60 runs in the team’s Poidevin-Gray loss to Mosman.
His start with Western Suburbs got even better on Saturday when he scored 90 in his third grade debut, helping the team to a 47 run win over UNSW.
Broes made the biggest contribution with the ball at 3-43, tearing through the UNSW middle order.
Fellow Saints player Tanvir Singh has also joined Western’s ranks.
While still on the hunt for his first wicket the Lithgow paceman found economical figures of 0-15 off six overs.
Ben Trevor-Jones scored 28 in Sydney University’s second grade win, a week after his century in the top flight.
Sydney University remain unbeaten leaders in both grades.
