The memorial is located near the Lone Pine tree, planted in 2009 behind the war grave at the cemetery.
Members who have served in the Australian Defence Forces (Navy, army, Air Force and Merchant Navy) or service corp (AACC or RAR) were invited to buy a paver and have it engraved.
There are over 150 pavers still available for purchase, for $40.
The Naitonal Servicemen’s Association of Australia NSW Branch Mid-State Sub Branch president James Dietrich said the pavers are not just restricted to Bathurst.
The process of installing the pavers started back in 2014.
“We needed some funds to start the project and with my daughter’s help, I applied to the NSW Anzac Community Grants program 2016-17 and to the Bathurst Regional Council,” Mr Dietrich said.
“The program came through with part of the funding required and council added to the funding allowing us to go ahead with the project.
“In early September this year the pavers were ordered and arrived just in the nick of time.”
