Coordinator of the Western Region Regatta Committee, Sue Jones, said the day was fantastic.
"The weather was perfect with light winds and sunny conditions to make it a great day out,” she said.
“We had a fantastic day for racing and spectating.
“We were really impressed by the friendly spirit of competition on the day and want to thank all the sporting and community teams who competed, volunteers and Dragon Boats NSW for making the event a success.”
Competitors came from Central West clubs for the 200m races, with people from Bathurst, Orange, Lithgow, Parkes, Forbes, Dubbo, Mudgee and Wagga Wagga.
They were competitive against the coastal teams, there from Sydney (Tsunami and Blackwattle Bay), Kempsey and Narooma.
The women's event was won by Forbes/Kempsey, while Tsunami won both the men's and the mixed event.
The community teams included Bathurst’s Perthville Paddlers, Health/Walkers and Team Ollie and The Old Swim School, James Sheahan High School and Orange Credit Union from Orange.
The Old Swim School took home the community trophy for the second year in a row.
Next year’s Western Region Regatta is planned for Windamere Dam, 30 kilometres south of Mudgee.
