On Thursday, Bathurst driver Tim Burt took to the famous bitumen of the Mount, in his Nissan Skyline R34 GTT 1998.
It's the third consecutive year he's participated in the Challenge Bathurst, in the event's third ever year.
“This is great. I’ve done the Hillclimb, but that doesn’t go all the way round, so it’s great to be able to do a full circuit of Mount Panorama,” he said.
“It’s really cool going round the Mount, especially when you’re out there and you’ve got GT3s going by. Those cars have got some amazing speed.”
Burt said an ideal time for him would be under two minutes and 30 seconds and he was close in reaching his target.
On Thursday morning in the Supersprint Group C practice, Burt’s fastest lap was in 2:31.9850, followed by a 2:42.5240 in the Supersprint Group C sprint one on Thursday afternoon.
Challenge Bathurst will continue up the Mount Panorama circuit on Friday with the Supersprint, before the Modern Regularity competition across the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
