Currently, 100 per cent of Central West and Central Tablelands have been declared in drought, with 11.6 per cent and 15.2 per cent respectively in intense drought.

However, if predictions are fulfilled this week will bring some much-needed rain to the region. 

Western parts of the region should receive the most rain, with up to 45mm predicted in Nyngan, and 35mm in Dubbo, Forbes, Wellington and Young.

Up to 40mm of rain is predicted for Grenfell, while 30mm should fall in Cowra, Mudgee and Oberon.

Areas around Bathurst, Orange and Parkes should receive 25mm, with Lithgow predicted to receive 20mm.

The wettest days in the region will be Tuesday and Wednesday, with some rain also predicted for the weekend.

So far this month, Nyngan is the only location in the region to have received more than its monthly rainfall total with 36.9mm already recorded which is slightly above the long-term November average of 35.9mm.
