THE Western Advocate yesterday ran an article about some parking confusion for drivers on Howick Street.

The issue was that there is a section of the road, just outside the LiveBetter office, where the parking changes from angle to parallel.
There are signs to indicate the change [but they are well above eye level for most drivers] and, as we know from our own driving experience, most of us will just park the same way as the car next to us.
That means if there is already a car parked on an angle, most of us will park on an angle next to it without thinking to check.
A number of drivers have been fined already for getting it wrong, though, and Parade admits to feeling a bit of sympathy for them.
But we feel more sympathy for the people living on this street in Bondi [see photo].
Councillor Jess Jennings snapped this shot during a recent trip to Sydney to illustrate the challenges local drivers face down there.
Parade has no idea what the arrows all mean. Do you?

Case of foul play, says darts champ
THERE has been a bit of a stink in the darts world this week.
The Grand Slam of Darts being played in the English Midlands town of Wolverhampton has been rocked by claims from a defeated quarter finalist of unsportsmanlike behaviour from his opponent.
Dutchman Wesley Harms claimed there was a “fragrant smell” being emitted by Scottish two-times world champion Gary Anderson during their match, and it put him off his game.
“It’ll take me two nights to lose this smell from my nose,” Harms told Dutch television station RTL7L on Saturday.
For his part, Anderson blamed the crowd for the smell, saying “I’m not going to lie about farting on stage”.
