Ms Strong was one of four people to give evidence on Tuesday at an inquest into the murder of Reginald Mullaly, found stabbed to death under the Denison Bridge in September 2015.
The matter - which has four persons of interest, including Greenfield - is being held before Deputy State Coroner Elizabeth Ryan at Orange Court House. Ten witnesses are expected to be called.
The inquest heard Ms Strong had been in a relationship with Greenfield which had ended, but she remained civil with him for the sake of children.
She told the inquest he went to her Currawong Street home on September 20, 2015 where he told her “he had killed someone” before washing himself, a knife, a pair of bolt cutters and clothing in bleach.
Ms Strong said Greenfield arrived at 2pm and was agitated and on edge, speaking very quickly.
She said she had seen him like that before on occasions when he was using drugs.
She said he took the bleach into the bathroom and started bleaching his hands, shirt, knife and bolt cutters.
When he told her he had killed someone, she said “what do you mean?” and he replied: “He put me down, I went Tony Mokbel on him.”
She told the inquest she stopped asking questions because later in the conversation Greenfield “threatened to put me under that bridge”.
Ms Strong told the inquest when Greenfield said “he had killed someone” he was pacing back and forth, jumping around and telling her to check Facebook.
Ms Strong also told the inquest she noticed dry spots of blood on Greenfield’s forearms, but said she didn’t ask about the blood.
“At the time thought it best if I didn’t,” she said.
The inquest heard Greenfield left the house at 6pm and was picked up by Shayno [Shayne Miller]. After he left, Ms Strong called Crime Stoppers.
The inquest continues in Orange.
