IGA is supporting Vinnies by selling $2 Christmas baubles at all retailers throughout Australia, with the proceeds going towards the Vinnies Christmas Appeal.
The Vinnies Christmas Appeal provides food and vital support to the many thousands of people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage across Australia.
Each year, Vinnies provides assistance on more than 1.1 million occasions, donating around $100 million in aid towards poverty-stricken individuals.
The assistance provided by Vinnies includes crisis accommodation, food, support with paying bills, and access to clothing and furniture.
Since 2012, IGA retailers have donated over $1.5 million towards the Vinnies Christmas Appeal.
“As independent retailers who are passionate about serving the local community and giving back, IGA believes in championing people in need,” IGA National Retailer Council chair Joseph Romeo said.
“The Vinnies Christmas Baubles go a long way in helping to bring cheer to what can be a really difficult time of year for many people.”
The Vinnies Christmas Bauble Appeal will last through until December 25.
