Reggie Happ, a student at Bathurst High, has spent the term collecting donations for the school, but needed $700 to assist in transporting them there.
Some of the donations heading overseas include nappies, multi media projector, a laminating machine and Lego junior.
With the help of his teachers he organised a Hawaiian mufti day, charging a gold coin donation for students to wear casual clothing. He also sold sarongs and flower leis, while staff held a raffle to assist with fundraising.
School principal, Ken Barwick, said the day was one of the best supported mufti days he has seen, both with students and staff.

Mr Barwick said the day had raised well in excess of the $700 goal, saying he thought it likely the event would hit the $1,000 mark.
Reggie thanked everyone saying he “loved everyone’s dresses, shoes and flowers.”
