I WAS lucky enough to do a day trip back home recently with some friends.
I said we must call into the tourist office if they wanted to get some souvenirs, so we did.
I was so disappointed. There were no tea towels with “Bathurst” printed on them or coffee mugs, just some stubby holders, key rings and stickers, so we walked out empty-handed.
They took me to the cemetery so I could put flowers on my parents’ and great-grandparents’ graves and some of the old section was a disgrace.
IN OTHER NEWS:
It may be old, but there are some of us who still visit family and friends. It’s a pity that the bottom gate doesn’t get opened.
I hope council looks into what I’ve spoken about.
All my friends agreed that Bathurst is the beautiful city that I’ve told them so much about.
