Parade has been enjoying the decorations in Kings Parade and on the civic centre, as well as the banners that are hanging from the lamp standards.
One of the things happening to enhance Bathurst’s Christmas look is the Put Christmas in your Business competition.
For this, shop owners are encouraged to add lights and other decorations to their shop windows to help raise money for the 2BS Lions Christmas Miracle Appeal.
Parade hasn’t been out at night much recently, however she hopes that businesses have embraced the competition.
She does intend to be out in the central business district at night later this week, at which point she will certainly take a much closer look at the shops.
Depending on what she sees, she’ll be sure to report back the best ones.
CARS SERVING AN UNEXPECTED ROLE
PARADE is wondering if she’s the only one that has found herself a little disorientated on the Mitchell Highway in recent days.
While travelling to work each morning, she has found herself thinking she was further along the highway than what she actually was.
This was because some motorists have taken to parking their vehicles for sale closer to the cemetery than the Bathurst Indoor Sports Stadium.
Parade didn’t realise until this week how much she relied on the cars for sale as a marker for how much further she had to go in her journey.
HARD TIME BEING A ROYAL … again
ON more than one occasion, Parade has found herself talking about how tough being a member of the royal family must be.
This week, she found another reason to feel sorry for one member in particular, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Instead of being able to just attend an event in a nice dress without scrutiny, she became the subject of an article about re-wearing an outfit.
Heaven forbid a woman get more than one use out of a (likely very expensive) gown.
