A local cherry farm will be opening their orchard over the next two weekends, inviting members of the Bathurst community to come and pick their own punnets worth.

The cherry orchards have been blooming out at the Limekilns Cherry Farm, and operator Dale Curran is looking forward to welcoming visitors.
“We’re expecting good crowds from the Bathurst region, as well as a few visitors from Sydney,” Ms Curran said.
“This is the first time this season that we’ll be opening up the farm.”
The Australian cherry season lasts from October through to late February each year.
Cherry picking has been growing in popularity across the region and Ms Curran, whose family has owned the farm for the last three years, said a favourable growth of cherries has inspired them to open the farm.
“There’s always a demand for cherries, and if we think we have enough of them, then we’ll open the farm for the general public,” she said.
“We enjoy opening up the farm to visitors, and we’re hoping to provide a fun family day out in the fresh air enjoying our beautiful view.”
The Limekilns Cherry Farm will be open both this weekend [December 8 and 9] and next weekend [December 15 and 16] between 10am and 4pm.
