A field of 12, including Subaru, Mitsubishi and Citroen rally cars plus some classics such as a Datsun, Peugeot and a Toyota Land Cruiser, will be put to the test by their drivers and navigators.
The event also gives officials a chance to get some experience before the 2019 rally season begins.
The Sunny Corner Rally Training event is the final non-championship event in the Southern Cross Rally Series.

The series has visited various parts of New South Wales this season, with the championship finale staged at Oberon on November 3.
This is the first time a training day has been conducted for the series, with event director and Bathurst rally driver Ron Moore excited to see how the event goes.
“This is the first training day that we have done, and it is a very much ‘toe in the water’ event. It is essentially a low key test day, not just for the drivers but also for the officials,” Moore said.
“The Sunny Road State Forest has some very good roads which we can use for the event, but is also a great place to hold the event because it is fairly close to Sydney, which will help other competitors getting up here for the training day.”
There will be a good range of cars there and it will be good practice for all the drivers.

Whilst being named the Sunny Corner Rally, there will be no timing or competition occurring, with testing being the primary purpose of the event.
“It is just a test day. All of the competitors attending will be testing their cars and their new equipment. There are currently 12 cars that have registered for the event. Its good to see a range of cars too, and will be good practice for the drivers,” Moore said.
Uniquely, not all competitors for the training rally have strict roles in their team. While there are some who will use the standard driver-navigator combination, others will feature just a driver.

On top of that, Jason Williams and Ryan Retton-howe will share the driving and navigating roles in their Peugeot.
Whilst holding the role of event director for Friday, Moore has participated in a few rally events this year. He achieved two podiums in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI, with a third placing at the Orange Rally and a second place at the last round in Oberon.
“The 2018 season has been really good and I am really happy with the couple of podiums that we have gotten. I am also looking forward to next season with a couple of local events on the calendar that I will be attending,” Moore said.
