Mr O’Dea’s appointment to the role is part of Optus’ growth in their commitment to regional areas across Australia.
“To lead Optus in such a key regional market is an exciting opportunity,” he said.
“My immediate priority will be to understand from our customers what our greatest challenges and opportunities are, and I’m looking forward to working with the local team here to build on the successes achieved in Central NSW to date.”
The Central NSW region covers Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo, Goulburn, Bowral and Nowra.
In the newly created position, Mr O’Dea will work closely with local stores to help further promote the Optus brand.
“With our ongoing and significant investment in regional Australia, it is important that we have a strong team in place to support and respond to opportunities as they arise,” Optus head of regional Marcus Grimes said.
“The appointment of Tom further strengthens our regional management team, and I am confident of his ability to help grow our business in this key area for Optus."
The Optus network handles over 31 million calls and 80 million SMS messages daily throughout Australia.
