Temperatures will rise as high as 37 degrees in some parts of the region, with Bathurst forecasts to sweat through three consecutive days of 30-plus temperatures from Saturday.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a top of 31 degrees Celsius on Saturday, followed by 33 on Sunday and 32 on Monday before the temperature falls to 24 with possible showers on Tuesday.
The bureau issued an alert on Thursday morning warning low-intensity heatwave conditions were expected across much of NSW.
The hottest places to be in the Central West will be Dubbo and Forbes with both predicted to reach the mid 30s on Saturday before increasing to 37 on Sunday.
Cowra, Grenfell, Parkes, Wellington and Young should all see a top of 36 degree on Sunday.

The coolest place to be on the weekend will be Lithgow, with a top of 28 expected on Saturday and 29 on Sunday.
Meanwhile, wet weather is predicted to return early next week with much of the region set to receive rainfall through until Wednesday.
