The Salvos and Newcastle Permanent have put out the call to Bathurst shoppers to help make Christmas memorable this year by simply adding one more item to their gift list.
The Salvos’ annual toy drive is now collecting donations at Newcastle Permanent branches across the state, including Bathurst, as gifts for local children who might otherwise miss out.

Newcastle Permanent’s Bathurst branch lending manager Julie Ann Jones said the collection brought out the best in people.
“Throughout our 30-year partnership with the Salvation Army’s Christmas toy drive we’ve seen the huge generosity of our community,” Ms Jones said.
“It’s remarkable how many people donate gifts year after year on top of their own family giving, and our teams really enjoy the opportunity to participate by bringing in donations of their own.
“It’s very heart-warming.”
People looking to support the toy drive are asked to consider gifts for 10 to 15-year-olds. Teenage gift suggestions to consider include clothes, gift vouchers, sporting equipment, electronic devices, beauty and hair products, and games.
Newcastle Permanent is at 95 William Street, Bathurst.
