Minister for Racing Paul Toole said the club was successful under the NSW Government’s Back to the Track program, with funding totalling $4530.
“It will be a special New Year’s Eve family race meeting with entertainment for the kids, food and giveaways sure to draw a good crowd,” Mr Toole said.
“The all-age event will give local families something fun to do in the lead up to the New Year’s Eve evening fireworks being run by Bathurst Regional Council.”
Through the Back to the Track program, the NSW Government is investing $400,000 in regional thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing so it can build on these key connections at a grassroots level.
Mr Toole said the announcement of funding for Bathurst Greyhounds was timely as it coincided with Monday’s Soldiers Saddle meeting at Kennerson Park, which starts at 3.59pm.
The Soldiers Saddle is the eighth event on the card and will be run at 6.07pm.
