A 69-year-old man has escaped with just superficial injuries after the car he driving collided with the Dubbo-bound XPT near Blayney today.

The accident occurred at the Greghamstown Road level crossing at 11.50am on Sunday.
The XPT struck a glancing blow to the front of the vehicle, causing moderate damage to the car.
Neither the driver of the train nor any passengers were injured. The driver of the car has been transported to Orange Hospital for treatment.

Train services were disrupted for one hour as emergency services worked to clear the site.
Police have said investigations are continuing.
