After a year of strenuous study, Bathurst High leavers were able to breath a sigh of relief as they received their final grades.
Aidan McBurney was particularly pleased with his results, which included a Band 6 in music extension.
“I was happy enough to get consistent results [mostly Band 5s and 4s] across the board,” Aidan said.
“Based on how much study I did, I went far better than I should’ve.”
Aidan hopes to plan out a career in physiotherapy.
Kristen Mitchell, who studied business studies, legal studies, standard english, mathematics and economics, was successful in picking up a number of Band 5 results.
“I feel I did well in the HSC, and I’m very happy with my results,” Kristen said.
“We all worked hard in the end, and that’s all that matters.”
A major highlight of Bathurst High’s HSC results was music, which saw five Band 6s and six Band 5s.
The results are promising for music teacher and Year 12 advisor Veronica Manock, who marked her first year teaching a HSC class.
“I definitely wasn’t expecting these results at all, and I am absolutely stoked that all the hard work my students have put in this year has paid off,” Ms Manock said.
Principal Ken Barwick is very pleased with the amount of positive HSC results across the board.
“We’ve had about 35 kids receive early entry into university already, and I think all students have received the results that they wanted,” Mr Barwick said.
