This Saturday Qureshi and his Rugby Union team-mates will be attempting to notch up a win in the shorter format against Bathurst District Cricket Association first grade rivals Bathurst City.
Though Rugby is yet to win a Twenty20 game, Qureshi enjoys the format and says that he is looking forward to the final game before the mid-season break.
“It’s all good fun. It’s a different game, it isn’t my favourite but it adds to the challenge of it,” Qureshi said.

“I will be using this game to improve my form. The game is all about having time at the crease, not to just smash it out of the park straight away. Patience is key, get your eye in to the game. I have had the same game plan for the prior matches, it just hasn’t really gone to plan.”
While rain in the build up has put the match in doubt, if it does go ahead Qureshi believes that there could be something on offer for both batters and bowlers.
“A lot of players get scared if they are batting on a moister pitch, but all you need to do is just adjust to it. If the bowler strays from a good delivery, the ball just sits up and is an easy hit. You can capitalise on bad balls. And of course with bowling, the ball should seam around a little bit more,” Qureshi said.

Regardless of what happens this Saturday, Qureshi believes the change in format to the two-day matches will see Rugby climb the ladder.
“The two-day competition is where we really excel. Last season we came from the bottom of the ladder and won all but one of our matches after the break, so it is a real strength of our club,” Qureshi said.
“We haven’t been as good as we should have been this season. Our start has been marred with injury and a lack of availability, but we should be able to perform in the matches coming up.”
