On Tuesday, the team at Metro Petroleum in South Bathurst were offering customers a 10-cent discount on fuel as an early Christmas present.
The discount was applied to all varieties, seeing unleaded drop to 120.7 cents per litre, diesel offered at 134.5 cpl and e10 marked down to 116.7 cpl.
Gas was also significantly cheaper and premium 98 was priced at 130.7 cpl.
Motorists were able to access the cheaper prices between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
The owner of the petrol station, Raja Kallem, said the promotion was a huge success.
“It went really great, it’s getting busy and people are using the discount,” he said.
Mr Kallem wasn’t sure how many customers had come through the petrol station on Tuesday, but estimated there was around 100 more than what would ordinarily be seen.
Anyone who visited was also able take advantage of the free barbecue.
“It went well and everyone had a really good barbecue. We’ll do the same thing tomorrow (Wednesday),” Mr Kallem said.
The Metro will offer the same 10-cent discount to its customers on Wednesday as well.
As was the case on Tuesday, the discount will only apply between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
When announcing the two days of discounts, Mr Kallem said the promotion was all about giving back to loyal Metro customers at Christmas time.
