The NSW Government said trains will not stop at Circular Quay Station from 5pm until midnight and Milsons Point from 6pm until midnight on New Year’s Eve due to large crowds.
Residents are also advised to use public transport as major roads leading into Sydney Harbour will be closed from 2pm and the majority of the city roads will be closed by 7pm.
More restrictions will be in place from 11pm to help the large crowds move around after the midnight fireworks.
“Most roads will remain closed until 4am on New Year's Day,” the NSW Government said.
