WITH a very high fire danger rating and the ongoing heatwave, all fire permits will remain suspended across the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Chifley/Lithgow region on Friday.

The region, which includes Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon local government areas, is amid very hot, dry weather this week.
On Friday the mercury is expected to soar to 37 degrees in Bathurst and Oberon, and 34 in Lithgow.
Firefighters were called to two bushfires in the region on Thursday afternoon, both were in Lithgow.
The first was a blaze that broke out begun on private property behind Commonwealth Avenue, with a water-bombing helicopter called to the scene to assist ground crews.
By late Thursday afternoon the 10 hectare blaze had been brought under control.
The second bushfire was off Wolgan Road at Wolgan Valley, by Friday morning the one hectare fire was still ‘being controlled’ by NSW RFS crews.
