Bathurst Regional Council lined up Howard and Sons Pyro Technics to provide the city with a 10-minute, action-packed fireworks display at 9pm.
Pops of colour could be seen in the sky coming from the Adventure Playground, where Party in the Park was taking place.
As has been the case in previous years, council spent $10,000 on the display.
In addition to the fireworks, people were able to enjoy live music, $2 rides, a free jumping castle and a photobooth.
It was the 10th time council had held the event.
