The Summer Reading Program at Bathurst Library, for children aged zero to 17 years, will run until January 31. Register with the library and then borrow, read and record books that have been read in the logbooks and hand them back in. Saturday, January 5
Come on a journey down the rabbit hole with Curiouser and Curiouser curator Julian Woods at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery from 11am. Julian will lead a guided tour of the exhibition, talking about each of the exhibiting artists, their practice and their works in the exhibition.
Bathurst Arts Trail, which offers free entry to artists’ studios on the first full weekend of each month, will be held this Saturday and Sunday, January 5 and 6 from 10am to 4pm. Monday, January 7
Grab a costume, invent a character and create a new show during an upcoming workshop (suitable for ages five to 12) at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. Penelope (Nel) Kentish and Alex Vidler, experienced drama tutors with a passion for making theatre with young people, will be running the workshop on January 7 and 8 from 10am-4pm. Cost is $50 per student. A short performance will be held on Tuesday, January 8 at 3.30pm. Contact BMEC on 6333 6161 for information.

The Bathurst Regional Art Gallery school holiday workshops are on again from Tuesday, January 15 to Thursday, January 24. Six workshops led by the gallery’s artist educators have been developed and inspired by the current BRAG exhibition Curiouser and Curiouser. Advanced booking and payment are essential.
